I can't believe it's nearly the end of November!
The boys had their 2 week fall break in the last 2 weeks of October. We knew that we wanted to go somewhere pretty early on and we settled on Hungary. However, when all the recent issues in Hungary came up we decided that it wasn't so smart and changed it up to Legoland. That's about all the plan we had until 1 day before we left. About 24 hours before we left we decided to look on the map and plan our route - advanced planning with 3 kids at its best. I've heard of spa town called Baden Baden and thought it would be a good first stop. Thankfully, Chris found out some information and apparently, it's not so kid friendly. After that we booked a hotel in Stuttgart and decided to take the boys to the pool and then explore Stuttgart a bit. Pool as always was a blast. Stuttgart, as we found out, has a couple of interesting sights - public library, Porsche museum. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the museum (closed early) but we did get to see their library. We didn't get to see what they show in the pictures but the boys absolutely loved it.
After spending a night in Stuttgart, we headed out to Legoland which was only an hour away. Our plan for was spend Sunday and Monday there (sleeping at the castle of course!) and then on to something else yet unknown to us. Legoland is awesome! Because we were off season the lines weren't horribly long and the boys (Chris included) got to go on several rides multiple times. Monday was even better than Sunday in that respect because lines were really short. The Castle is a lot of fun. Big boys slept in the bunk beds and Anton for once had his own bed as well. It's done extremely well with really delicious food that we enjoyed for dinner.
When we checked out on Monday morning, we still had no clue where we were heading and by quickly checking the hotels in Stuttgart we realized that the prices seems a bit high there for some reason and most of the hotels are fully booked. The other route from Legoland back to us is through Nuremberg. We got a great hotel for extremely good price that included breakfast.Tuesday we explored Nuremberg and loved seeing the castle from 15the century.
Thankfully, it all worked out but really this was our worst planned trip yet.
